Should I Buy a Starter Set, or Buy The Components Separately ?

As you become more involved in Lacrosse, rising experience and enthusiasm are certain to have you looking at the different upgrades available for Lacrosse gear.

When, and to Which Components will you, would you, and should you? Those are the questions, of course. We are totally available online or in any of our stores to help you with answers. The first such answer will probably be: "What is your experience level and what are your preferences?" If you fit into a younger age group, and you don't have those details for us, our first suggestion will be to invest in a Lacrosse Starter Set. As you gain knowledge in the game, and experience competing in Lacrosse, you will build your preferences based upon knowledge. Then we'll help you move upwards in equipment. In the meanwhile, the Starter Set is perfect for your beginning in Lacrosse.

Is the equipment suitable for all ages?

Our Lacrosse Starter Sets are created with the youth and middle school lacrosse player in mind. At this level the rules protect the players a bit more, and the starter set is the perfect amount of protection. Not to mention, younger players are not getting any smaller so you may want to hold off on buying some components until you are almost full grown.

Adults and high school players may find that starter set arm pads and gloves do not offer the amount of protection you need to sustain your play through to the end of the season. We are totally serious about Lacrosse, and it is important to us to provide a player an affordable way to get started in the sport. That being said, you must bear in mind that Lacrosse can be a contact sport, and there will always be equipment that costs more and insulates you better from bruises and etc. Play according to the Rules. Use equipment that is recognized and legal by the National Federation of High Schools. You will not find Lacrosse Equipment that is legal to play with, and less expensive than our Lacrosse Starter Sets!

When is it time to upgrade my starter set?

You will know when you are ready to upgrade your lacrosse equipment. Typically this occurs after you get a few months under your belt. Players may find they would prefer better lacrosse gloves, or a better lacrosse shaft or head. The nice thing about a starter set is that you can upgrade one piece at a time, instead of the whole set at once.

Experience playing Lacrosse lets you make educated decisions on your equipment. Beginning with the lacrosse starter set will allow you to gain that education, so you don't invest in an expensive piece of equipment, only to discover that another choice would have suited you better. Perhaps you will realize that you don’t need an upgrade at all!!!

What equipment will be included in the Lacrosse Starter Set?

The lacrosse starter set includes everything you will need to get started and legally step on to the field. The set includes a complete lacrosse stick, Cascade helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, mouth guard, and a lacrosse ball. The specific manufacturer of each component may be the same, or the set may be mixed. We pay careful attention to quality and durability in the assembly of our starter sets, and the mix will depend upon the time of year, availability, and our judgement.

How do I know what size lacrosse starter set I need?

We have pretty accurate sizing charts on the product page.

As a general guideline, with shoulder pads and gloves you can get away with buying a size too big. The arm pads and helmet, you'll want to get pretty close to the right size. Think practically: it can be really hard to learn lacrosse without vision and with the arm pads slipping down your arms. The shoulder pads and gloves will not get in the way as much.
